Mokokchung, November 15 (MTNews): As part of expanding its outreach activities, the Accountant General Office, Nagaland will be organizing an “Outreach Mission to Mokokchung,” the Sr. Deputy Accountant General (A&E) informed on Tuesday.
Accordingly, an awareness program on various Audit & Accounts function in Mokokchung Town on November 25 at the Town Hall. All officers and staff in Mokokchung district offices dealing with audit and accounts and entitlement matters like pension, GPF, payslip etc. have been requested to attend the program.
Additionally, it was informed that the AG office will take up the issue of settling outstanding inspection reports of auditee units in Mokokchung. It was also informed that various pavilions for pension, GPF, payslip, Inspection Report Settlement etc. will be set up for awareness and grievance redressal.
“The offices would also take the opportunity to personally meet and hand over the latest Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) to the persons from the districts of Mokokchung, Longleng, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Wokha,” it added. Sr. Treasury Officers of the above-mentioned districts would be handed over the payment copies of PPO in Mokokchung, it was informed.
It was informed that the organisation of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India observes ‘Audit Diwas’ on November 16 each year followed by an Audit Awareness Week throughout the country. The objective behind this is to celebrate the long and illustrious history of the organisation, evolution and recognise the contribution of the organisation to the governance of the country.
“It is also an opportunity to reach out to the stakeholders, strengthen the relationship and enhance the organisation’s relevance in building accountability and transparency in public governance,” the press release said.
During the Audit Awareness Week last year, the offices of the Accountants General, Audit and A&E had organised an inter-college extempore speech competition on various topics revolving around “Accountability, Transparency and Good Governance”. This year, the offices have planned to expand their outreach activities to Mokokchung.
