Nagaland’s Advisor for CAWD Kudecho Khamo on Wednesday urged government officials to work collectively towards the development of Chozuba and envision its future in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Addressing a departmental coordination meeting at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba, Khamo called for cohesive efforts among departments to serve the people and plan for future generations, noting the town’s strategic location along the National Highway.
He highlighted progress in the area, noting that Chozuba Town was awarded the cleanest town under Phek district, and appreciated the performance of the medical department and the Chozuba Town Council.
Reiterating Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s remarks during Phek’s 50th anniversary celebration, Khamo called for introspection among departments and individual officials on their role in public service. He stressed that government machinery and the public must remain resolute in strengthening the vision from the grassroots.
Khamo encouraged young people to take up entrepreneurship and urged banks and financial institutions to work closely with the public. He called for a “servanthood attitude” among officials and urged them to “leave footprints” through their service even after being transferred.
He proposed that financial institutions organise a mela to promote financial literacy and suggested regular social work, including a monthly cleanliness drive in Chozuba.
Khamo also proposed a fair for MSMEs, SHGs and farmers to market their products, while providing departments a platform for public outreach. He urged departments to adopt villages for model projects and expressed willingness to participate in such initiatives within a year.
He stressed the potential of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary sectors among the Chakhesang people and appreciated progress in Agriculture and Horticulture.
The meeting was chaired by Nengpichong Singsit, EAC Chetheba. ADC Chozuba Zapuno Khatso said the meeting aimed to improve departmental coordination and review ongoing programmes and projects.
The house also expressed concern over the non-commencement of the Science stream at GHSS Chozuba and urged the School Education Department to start it from the next academic session.
