A newly constructed General Administration (GA) Rest House was inaugurated today by the Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo as special guest. He was accompanied by Advisor, Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba and Advisor, Minority Affairs & Sericulture, Imkongmar.

 

 

 

 

Khamo while speaking at the inauguration said that the GA Rest House will not only cater services to the Government officials but would also facilitate people in need, particularly those coming from outside the district.

 

Khamo also acknowledged the contractor for their workmanship and the CAWD EE and his team for taking all the initiative, starting from bringing in funds to completion of the project.

 

The Advisor also highlighted Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s keen interest in CAWD and Taxes Departments to create assets and build buildings for the smooth functioning of government machinery.

 

In this regard, Khamo also appealed to the people of Mokokchung to extend cooperation and support to the PDA Government so that the Government can bring development and peace to all sections of the society.

 

Advisor, Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmemba also said that with the addition of a new rest house, the district would be able to serve not only government officials but people from all walks of life.

 

Acknowledging the commendable work implemented by the Contractor and the Department, Advisor Minorities Affairs & Taxes Imkongmar also expressed that this is one his dreams come true and suggested for construction of more guest houses in the state.

 

Er Sungtiba Amer, Executive Engineer CAWD, Kohima, in his technical report informed that the building was conceptualized during 2014-15 as per the requirement of the Department and that the construction commenced in 2015. The GA Rest Mokokchung was completed in November 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs 350 lakhs.

 

The building is a G+1 storied RCC structure with a basement and total plinth area of 7438 sqft. The building comprises 4 suite rooms, 5 deluxe rooms, a lobby, hall, toilets, kitchen, dining room and dormitory. The building is adjacent to the Circuit House.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS also spoke at the event during which he shared the benefits of having the GA Rest House in Mokokchung. He also highlighted the need for some furniture and fixtures at the rest house and requested the Department and its Advisor to look into it. The event was chaired by Abeinuo Jasmine Ashao, EAC Mokokchung.
