Moatoshi Visits ITI & Employment Exchange Mokokchung
Mokokchung, 27 May (MTNews): Advisor for Labour, Employment Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer stated that non-functioning Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state would be wound up. The Advisor stated this during his visit to the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Mokokchung today. He also visited the Employment Exchange, Mokokchung.

Interacting with the Principal and Staff of ITI Mokokchung, Moatoshi said he was impressed by the number of students at ITI, Mokokchung. He said out of the nine ITIs in the State, there are hardly any students in some of the ITIs, whereupon he maintained that non-functioning ITIs will have to be wound up.
The Advisor mentioned about being informed that ITI Mokokchung was one of the best in the State. He asked the teachers/instructors to be zealous in imparting training to the students with all sincerity so that they could compete and at par with other ITIs even outside the State.
Moatoshi said institutes cannot give employment but there are ways to support and pave ways for the trainees to get employed once the training is completed. He suggested that once the training session is over, institutes should make known the availability of the trained personnel through different platform, so as to create avenues for employment for the trained.
During interactions, Principal, ITI Mokokchung, T Imlisunep Ao, informed about the shortage of instructors and the urgent need of some renovation work in the institution while the Staff also shared their grievances, to which the Advisor assured that everything would be looked into in his capacity. However, the Advisor also cautioned that non- performing Staff would be sidelined.

He asked the Staff to be regular in office and to carry out their duties with sincerity and dedication.
