Mokokchung, 3 June (MTNews): K Tokugha Sukhalu IAS (Rtd), Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, has written a letter to Metsubu Jamir, Nagaland Minister for Rural Development, commending Natha New village under 35 A/C Zunheboto for upholding clean elections in the state without any demands from any political parties or candidates.

In the letter dated 3 June Sukhalu highlighted the significance of the recent State election and the importance of clean elections, as emphasized by the Churches and civil societies. He informed the Minister that out of all the villages in the 35 A/C Zunheboto constituency, Natha New village was “the only village that resolved to abide by the call for clean election.”

 

Natha New village, did not seek any favors or inducements from any political party or candidate during the electoral process, he said. This conduct has garnered appreciation from the Advisor, who believes that such actions set a remarkable example for other villages and the general public.

 

In light of Natha New village’s commendable adherence to clean elections, Sukhalu, in his letter, earnestly requested the Minister to consider allocating funds for the construction of a village council hall in Natha New. “This gesture of acknowledgment would serve as a token of appreciation for the village’s honesty,” Sukhalu added.
