Nagaland Football coach Lavoriyi Theluo has joined Sudeva Delhi FC as the Assistant Coach for the senior team. Theluo confirmed this development to MT informing that he was selected through the club’s official recruitment process following a vacancy for the assistant coach position.

“I’m delighted to share that I’ve joined Sudeva Delhi FC as Assistant Coach for the senior team. I’m extremely happy and overwhelmed by the top-class facilities and the welcoming staff with vast experience. It’s a great environment to work in,” said Theluo in an exclusive interview with Mokokchung Times.

He further added, “I’ve signed a one-year contract, which I’m excited about. Sudeva Delhi FC has a rich history, having played in the I-League first division. Currently, we’re in the I-League second division. Sudeva also had a partnership with the German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. Our U-13 team will participate in a tournament in Germany next month, which is a fantastic opportunity.

The senior team is gearing up for the upcoming national-level tournaments and the I-League second division season starting early next year. I’m delighted to join this incredible club, and it’s my second stint with an I-League club. I’m here to learn, contribute, and help the team achieve our common goals.”

Theluo holds an AFC B License and the AIFF Goalkeeping Coaching Certificate, and has gained experience in both youth and senior-level football across India. He previously worked with Minerva Academy, an academy known for its strong academy setup and success in the I-League. His tenure at Minerva gave him exposure to high-performance environments and structured training systems.

Earlier this year, he served as the head coach of 27 United FC in the inaugural edition of the Nagaland Super League (NSL). Under his leadership, the team put up a strong showing, finishing fourth in the regular season. The NSL, organised by the Nagaland Football Association, featured seven teams and was widely regarded as a major step forward for football in the state.

Theluo was also associated with Benreu FC during the Peren District Football League, where he played an active role in grassroots development of the district league. While was also the head coach of the Phek district that won the third place in the Nagaland Olympics  Games 2024.

With his appointment to Sudeva Delhi FC, Theluo now steps into a key role at a club that places strong emphasis on youth development, professionalism, and performance.
