Thenyizu, 29 May (MTNews): The highly anticipated six-day All India Football Federation (AIFF) D License Course kicked off in Thenyizu village, Phek district on Monday. Organized by the Chokri Area Sports and Games Association (CAGSA) under the guidance of Football Association Phek District, the course aims to equip 22 football coaches from various districts in Nagaland with essential coaching skills. Leading the coaching camp is N William Koso, an AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A licensed coach.

CAGSA president Sekho Dawhuo emphasized the importance of having qualified coaches to nurture young players in the region. With the implementation of FIFA’s “football for schools” initiative in Nagaland, the need for trained coaches has become even more crucial.

Dawhuo expressed his hope that the participating coaches would make the most of the training course to develop their coaching abilities and contribute to the growth of football in the state.

While hoping the coaches will have a memorable stay in the village, he urged them to make the best use of the training course as they will be the coaches to mold the young players. He wished that the coaches will soon produce quality footballers in the state by giving their best effort in their coaching career.

The AIFF-D License Coaching Course provides the ideal introduction to football coaching at grassroots level. A D-License holder will be able to coach in grassroots football, college and school teams, District and Inter-city Championships etc. The coaching course comprises theory and practical lessons in the football pitch.

After the completion, those candidates who qualify in both the theory and practical exams will be awarded the AIFF D Coaching Certificate.
