The Ao Students’ Conference will be hosting its 69th General conference which will be hosted at Akhoya village, Mokokchung. The conference will be held on the theme “Education in Praxis” from 18-20 January 2022.

 

 

Nungdokyanger Ao, President, AKM said in a press conference at the AKM office here today that the conference theme was coined with the objective of educating the students on practical education and doing away with the traditional educational system where one gets educated and settles with a government job. He said that students should be able to achieve the kind of education that will enable them to be relevant in terms of intellect, skills and attitude five or ten years into the future so as to live a balanced life with the contemporary society.

 

A workshop on the theme “Education in praxis” will be held on 19 January with Er Moa Aier, Engineer-in-Chief, Department of Power and Er Atoba Longkumer, technology entrepreneur and founder, Tabernacle – the go to software for Churches.

 

The special guest for the conference will be the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, who will attend the conference on January 19. The inaugural guest will be Tongpang Ozukum, Minister, Housing & Mechanical, while the valedictory guest will be Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, Minster, Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland.

 

It was informed during the press conference that 1500 student-delegates will be attending the AKM 69th General Conference at the host village, Akhoya.

 

The conference will begin with a flag hoisting ceremony on January 18 at 4:30 PM which will be followed by the inaugural service.
