With the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations set to begin on February 12 and 11, respectively, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has issued an appeal to all stakeholders to ensure a conducive environment for students. The HSSLC exams will conclude on March 7, while the HSLC exams will end on February 24, 2025.

In its appeal, AKM urged the Department of Power to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the examination period. “Stable power is vital to facilitating effective preparation and a stress-free examination experience for students,” the student body stated, while also acknowledging the department’s ongoing efforts in providing electricity services.

However, AKM emphasized that “the significance of a seamless power supply during this time cannot be overstated.”

Further, AKM called upon all wards, colonies, and community leaders to maintain peace and tranquility in their respective areas. “Loud noises, public disturbances, or any form of activities that could disrupt the concentration and rest of students should be strictly avoided,” it stated, urging the community to collectively prioritize the well-being of students.

The student body also appealed to parents, guardians, and educators to extend “encouragement and understanding to students as they strive to excel in their examinations.” It encouraged the community to take pride in ensuring that students receive the necessary support during this crucial period.

Additionally, AKM urged the Department of School Education to ensure that “basic necessities at examination centres be provided to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of students during HSLC and HSSLC exams.”
