The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has contributed Rs 30,000 towards relief efforts for families affected by the recent floods in Tuli subdivision.

The donation was handed over to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Tuli, during a meeting attended by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Tuli, to discuss the prevailing flood situation in the subdivision.

During the meeting, the flood situation was reviewed. It was noted that numerous families had been affected, while the district administration, concerned departments and civil society organisations were making concerted efforts to provide relief and bring the situation under control.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, AKM handed over the financial assistance to the ADC to support relief efforts.

The organisation also appreciated the “relentless efforts” of the district administration, government departments and civil society organisations in responding to the crisis.

The assistance was extended through the AKM Free Coaching and Relief Fund Committee, which was established in 2024. The fund was created from the proceeds of the “We Care 5” Charity Concert held at the Mokokchung Public Ground in 2024.

AKM said the committee has remained committed to supporting families affected by emergencies and natural calamities since its inception.

The organisation added that the latest contribution reflects its continued commitment to serving the community and standing in solidarity with those in need during times of crisis.
