Akuluto gets new ADC Office Complex; Kudecho Khamo calls for unity, peace and ‘One Village, One Crop’ movement
Kudecho Khamo, Kazheto Kinimi, and other officials during the inauguration of the new ADC Office Complex at Akuluto Town on Thursday.

Speaking at the inaugural program in the presence of Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Kazheto Kinimi, Khamo said the achievement reflects the “people-centric and visionary endeavours” of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio under whom “many developments are taking place in various parts of the state.”

Khamo applauded Kinimi for driving development in the Akuluto sub-division “despite the State government’s meagre funds,” describing him as “a man of few words but an action-oriented leader who is seasoned and mature, working with a visionary approach for the Naga society.” He also thanked the Akuluto public for electing a leader from a constituency that has previously produced a Chief Minister, a Deputy Chief Minister, and other prominent leaders.

Calling for stability and collective effort, Khamo said “it is high time for the Nagas to unite” and stressed that peace is essential for the state’s progress. He added that India is resolute in achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047, and Nagaland must align with that national vision.

Khamo urged Akuluto, Zunheboto and Nagaland as a whole to undertake participatory development “beginning at the level of each family and individual.” Reiterating his Chozuba initiative – One Family, One Project; One Family, One Entrepreneur; and One Family, One Prayer – he encouraged all 17 villages and two towns under Akuluto Constituency to join the government’s “One Village, One Crop” movement to realise the region’s full economic potential.

He said the success of this initiative depends on government officials, public leaders and Church leaders “to spread the message and disseminate the initiative to the grassroots.”

Referring to the Chakhesang–Sumi relationship, Khamo said the brotherhood is “not based on any human reasoning but is divinely ordained,” urging the younger generation to strengthen and uphold the bond.

Khamo also acknowledged the contractor, Toika Kinimi, Proprietor of M/s Start Agency, and the CAWD team led by ACE Sungtiba Amer, for working in cohesion to complete the building. He thanked the landowners for their cooperation and urged the public to “treat the newly inaugurated office building as public property” and safeguard it.

Guest of Honour and Advisor Kazheto Kinimi thanked Khamo for inaugurating the complex and appreciated the CAWD department for providing the required funding. He commended the contractor for “exceptional diligence and timely completion.”

Kinimi expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for supporting development in the Akuluto constituency and said the new office “stands as a symbol of progress,” enhancing administrative efficiency, strengthening governance and opening avenues for growth. He urged the public to “protect, value and celebrate the new facility as a public asset.”

Presenting the technical report, ACE Er. Sungtiba Amer said the G+2 RCC complex was conceptualised as per departmental requirements with a plinth area of 16,510.97 sq. ft. Construction began in July 2021 and was completed in May 2025.

The building will house six departments:

· First Floor: ADC’s Room, EAC’s Room, SDO (Civil)’s Room, Conference Hall, Accounts Branch, IPR, Soil & Water Conservation, two common washrooms
· Second Floor: Social Welfare Department, FCS Department, two common washrooms

Short speeches were delivered by Vieketoulie Metha (EAC VK) and T Toniho Chophi of the Akuluto Area Gaonbura Association.
