‘Ambong’ from Mokokchung win Musik-A Festival ‘Battle of the Bands’

Mokokchung, February 19 (MTNews): Ambong, a project band from Mokokchung won the Musik-A Festival ‘Battle of the Bands’ open beat contest, Saturday night. About fifteen bands from North-East India auditioned for the Musik-A Festival ‘Battle of the Bands’ among which only seven bands were selected to perform in the final round.

Speaking to Mokokchung Times, Sanen Jamir said that they auditioned with their original song titled, ‘I Cry,’ which the band is yet to release as an official original single.

Ambong comprises of four members from different bands. According to Sanen, the name Ambong is an Ao word meaning ‘war-front warrior’. Their love for music brought the four members together in 2018 with the goal to make ‘good music’.

Musik-A Festival, initially scheduled to be held in December 2021, was postponed due to the Oting incident but has been underway since February 18, 2022 at Sovima, Dimapur. The festival, on its second day, conducted events such as dance battles, beatbox battle and ‘Battle of the Bands’.
