Mokokchung, October 7 (MTNews): After eight days of hunger-strike and eleven days of sit-in-protest by the ANATG protestors, the deadlock between the ANATG-2015 and the Department of School Education and the State Government finally broke and the protesting teachers have resolved to call off the agitation following a meeting with government officials on Friday.

 

A meeting between the officials of the Government of Nagaland headed by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nagaland and the ANATG 2015 Batch Central and the Core Committee in the presence of the ANSTA was held at the conference hall of Department of IT&C on Friday where they resolved to set up the High Powered Committee (HPC) headed by Principal Secretary or Commissioner & Secretary within 15 days and submit its recommendation by June 2023.

 

The meeting, which lasted for about 6 hours, also decided to resolve the matter of ANATG-2015 Batch within December 2023 while the Service Extension will continue till the matter is resolved. However, it was decided that this dispensation will not apply to proxy and untrained teachers.

 

It was further resolved that Grant of 7th RoP will be based on the recommendation of the HPC while ANATG-2015 batch and ANSTA members will be given an opportunity to present their case before the HPC. It was also decided that the HPC shall have a review meeting every 2 months.

 

And, accordingly, ANATG-2015 Batch had agreed to call off the agitation with immediate effect.

 

Meanwhile, Bendangtemsu Ozukum, member of ANATG when asked about the interpretation of “resolving the matter of ANATG-2015 Batch within December 2023” as agreed in the meeting, said that ANATG’s demand is for regularization of their service and that “resolving the matter” means regularization of their service.
