The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed appreciation to Nagaland University for addressing the grievances of students by allowing those with a maximum of three backlogs to advance to the next semester (2nd-3rd and 4th-5th) as a one-time special consideration. This prompt resolution permits students with up to three backlogs to progress to the subsequent semester as a one-time special measure.

In a press release, ANCSU President Tenyesinlo Bukh and Publicity & Information Secretary Kivika Yeptho stated that this noble consideration reaffirms that the welfare of students and the college fraternity is a priority. They also appealed to students to be more sincere and cautious of the new policy. The union assured that it will continue to represent the aspirations and voice of the college fraternity and students in all circumstances.

The ANCSU, through an appeal letter dated July 17, had requested a one-time relaxation for promoting 2nd and 4th-semester students with three backlogs, along with addressing other result-related issues, as all college institutes in Nagaland are still transitioning to implement NEP 2020, which includes adjustments for students, faculty, and parents.
