Thejao Vihienuo, President of the Angami Public Organisation, graced the second day of the Poanglüm Hornbill Festival 2025, Lamshok (Peace Treaty), as the Special Guest, with MLA Imtichoba Chang serving as the Festival Host, at the Parade Ground in Tuensang on 14th January 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, Thejao Vihienuo expressed his joy at seeing the Chang and Angami communities coming together for this historic peace treaty. He recalled an Angami family that had lived in Tuensang as far back as the 1940s, underscoring the close relationship between the Chang and Angami tribes. He stated that Poanglüm 2025 marks a significant milestone for both communities and reassured the Chang community that, should any trouble arise in the Angami area, the Angami Public Organisation would be happy to offer their assistance.

He also added that the Changs are the most humble and peace-loving community and expressed his belief that the friendship between the two communities would only grow stronger from this day forward.

The program was followed by a cultural show, indigenous games such as top spinning, Gogona, a pork-eating competition, and fire-making. The evening session concluded with the Mr. and Miss Chang 2025 competition, themed ‘Lanshedbü Müttao’. (With DIPR inputs)
