NPP Nagaland State Unit general meeting was held on 31 Match

The meeting gets due prominence especially in the back drop of the recent success of the party in the General Election, whereby NPP won 5 Assembly Seats. It is noteworthy that NPP would have made a better impression with double figures in the election had it not been for some unwarranted eventualities.

During his presidential address, the State President, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema expressed his immense gratitude to the party workers and supporters for their relentless confidence and faith on the party. He further congratulated the 5 MLAs of the party who have come out successful despite all the odds and hoped that they would work for the betterment and progress of the state as a whole and also urged them to support and work in sync with the party men for the larger interest of the party which has been monumental in their success. He also profusely thanked the State Government led by the Chief Minister, Shri Niephiu Rio for appointing one of the party’s MLAs, Shri C. Kipili Sangtam, as the Chairman of DPDB, Kiphire.

He maintained that NPP has always shown an upward trend since 2017 and has been successful in representing the people’s cause despite all the odds. He termed cohesion, symbiosis and loyalty as the key factors for the success of any organization including the NPP and so he called upon the partymen to maintain the decorum of the party.

Underscoring the essence of rough weathers making a strong captain, he opined that despite many challenges, upheavals and turmoils in the past, he and his team were able to take forward the principles of the party with utmost loyalty and integrity even when there were literally no MLAs in the party and without much help or resources. He therefore encouraged the gathering to remain firm in the party ethics and principles and take the legacy of the party forward through coordinated efforts.

The districts, represented by 2 members each, termed the success of the party as a hard earned one and thanked the party leaders led by the State President for their consistent trust upon them which led them to work with more determination. All the district units unanimously reposed their confidence upon the State President and decided to give him their utmost support because of his elemental role towards the growth of the party. They further called upon all partymen irrespective of state or districts to work with a common mindset and not seek undue opportunities.
