GMS Pongentola held its annual Sales Day on 16 October 2024 on the school premises. The event aimed to showcase students’ creativity and entrepreneurial skills. Parents, guardians, teachers, and students actively participated in the event, which featured a wide array of student-made items, including handcrafted traditional accessories, colorful hair clips, paper bags, detergents, and various knitted items. The students learned to make these items during the ’10 Bagless Days,’ an initiative under NEP 2020 that offers practical exposure to vocational crafts and skills for students in classes 6 to 8.
Throughout these 10 days, students acquired different skills, and their creations were displayed at the event today. Additionally, teachers organized culinary clubs, offering a variety of food items such as cupcakes, doughnuts, fried rice, wafers, and more. Parents, guardians, and community members attended the event, supporting the students’ work and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
“The event not only provided students with the opportunity to showcase their talents but also fostered a stronger sense of community between the school and the parents,” an update from the school said. The event raised significant funds, which will be utilized to enhance school resources and future initiatives, it added.
