The All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM) organized a protest on March 19 against the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the imposition of border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border. The demonstration, held at N Satang Village in Tengnoupal Sub-Division, Manipur saw the participation of community members, student leaders, and civil society groups.

Protesters expressed strong opposition to the government’s decision, stating that the move would severely impact the traditional movement, social ties, and economic activities of Naga communities living along the border. They argued that the fencing project disregards historical realities and violates the rights of indigenous people.
