Shillong, March 29 (MTNews): Having a responsible man in the family not only contributes to the health of the family but also to the health of the church and society. For the first time in the 68 years of existence of the Ao Baptist Arogo Shillong, a Men’s Fellowship was organized on the 26th – 27th of March 2022.
The objective behind this Fellowship was to address the roles and responsibilities of a man in the family, church and society. Mr. Sentipong Longchari and family generously provided their family farm at Umsning for the program.
The resource person was Rev. Aowabang Ozüküm, the Pastor of the Guwahati Ao Baptist Church. He spoke on the “position and responsibility of a man in the family and society from a Biblical perspective.” He challenged the participants to work towards being a more responsible man as the head of the family.
A press release from the Ao Baptist Arogo, Shillong, said that the participants were immensely blessed by his teachings. The outdoor environment of the venue allowed the participants to enjoy games like volleyball, angling and net-casting. The organizers also had a demonstration on how “pongsen” was prepared, to the delight of many present there.
This Fellowship was a time of self-reflection, self-realization and rededication for the participants who attended. The common consensus among the participants was that men needed to be more responsible, more participative and a contributor to the well-being of the family, church and society. The participants also expressed their desire to have similar fellowship in the near future.
