The Ao Senden has reportedly decided to lock down the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mokokchung, on Wednesday morning before office hours, following its earlier warning to take its own course of action over unresolved demands concerning Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH).
According to reliable sources, the apex Ao organisation has entrusted the Ao Lanur Telungjem to carry out the lockdown.
The reported move follows Ao Senden’s rejection of the Department of Health and Family Welfare’s reply to its ultimatum over the shortage of a radiodiagnosis specialist at IMDH. In a letter dated October 17, the apex organisation announced that it would take its own course of action from October 21, maintaining that none of the demands in its ultimatum had been met.

Ao Senden has insisted that a radiodiagnosis specialist be posted at IMDH, stating that the availability of a sonologist does not meet its demand. Its earlier ultimatum also sought the replacement posting of a dermatologist, shifting to the newly constructed Block A of IMDH, and the cancellation of doctors’ and nurses’ attachments elsewhere, with their return to the hospital.
The Ao Senden had warned that the department would be held responsible for any untoward incident during its course of action.
