Recommends Watiyim – Longjemdang – Mangkolemba – Khar – Longjongkong option

 

Mokokchung, March 21 (MTNews): The Ao Senden has in an open letter addressed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland expressed its opinion and position on the proposed realignment and construction of the Mokokchung – Mariani Road (NH 702D).
Ao Senden said in the open letter that the existing highway is having long detours and cannot be widened to 2-lane in several locations due to steep gradient. Ao Senden said that the highway should be realigned as per Option – IV of the Survey Report recommended by PWD (NH) to the State Government, saying that Option – IV shall reduce the existing 85 kms by at least 10 kms. Option-IV proposes realigning the existing highway to that of Watiyim – Longjemdang – Mangkolemba – Khar – Longjongkong route.
Ao Senden also said that Option-IV meets the standard and specifications, as well as shortest route, most economical and efficiency criteria as per National Highways norms.
