The Ao Students’ Conference expresses its deepest condolences at the passing of Shri Zubeen Garg, one of the most cherished cultural figures of Assam and the North East.
Over the course of his career, Zubeen Garg sang in more than nine languages and recorded thousands of songs spanning diverse genres—from folk and classical to modern, devotional, and popular music. He earned admiration not only in Assam but across India and abroad, becoming a household name whose voice reached millions. His humility, social concern, and close connection with his people made him beloved far beyond the stage.
At this hour of grief, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Smt. Garima Saikia Garg, his family members, and loved ones. We also convey our condolences to his countless fans, the people of Assam, and admirers across the North East and the country who feel the weight of this loss.
His passing leaves a void in the world of music and in the hearts of many, but his songs and the memories attached to them will continue to remain alive.
We join the Assamese people and the entire North East in prayer, remembrance, and respect for a life that gave so much to others. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
