Mokokchung, October 1 (MTNews): The Ao Students Union Kohima celebrated its 62nd Foundation Day at Molu Ki, Kohima on 1st October 2022. The event was marked by a short formal program with T. Lanusenla Longkumer, Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council as the speaker.

 

T. Lanusenla Longkumer during her speech encouraged the students to learn with a definite goal and objective in mind and take up studies and courses in which they have interests and in which they believe they can excel. She further emphasized the need to work hard and how one’s work culture is directly related to success or failure in one’s ventures.

She also pointed out that achieving success or passing an exam is not the end but the starting of a new life and journey and encouraged all to work towards improving themselves by setting new goals and scaling new heights. She also spoke on the importance of doing what one loves and making one’s interests and skills as a means of livelihood and advised one to not solely aim for government jobs.

 

She also highlighted the importance of serving with integrity in whatever profession one is engaged in.

 

Longkumer also shared in brief the need for all those staying in Kohima to be proactive citizens of the city and contribute towards its progress and development as Kohima is not just home to one tribe but rather it’s a home for all Nagas as the State Capital.

 

HSLC and HSSLC toppers of the 2021-22 batches from the Ao community in Kohima were also felicitated at the formal program.

 

The program began with Akumyanger, President, Ao Students Union Kohima (AKTK) delivering the welcome address while Meyipong Kichu, General Secretary, AKTK pronounced the vote of thanks.
