In a town where traditional markets have always been the heartbeat of shopping, Aonsotsu is a refreshing new breeze, bringing daily essentials right to your doorstep with just a few taps on your phone.

Tzuwasanen, founder of Aonsotsu, and a customer with her supplies delivered to her doorstep.

I had the pleasure of using this service last Christmas while visiting my parents in Ungma. Honestly, I was amazed-not just by the speed, but by the professionalism, thoughtful packaging, and the superior quality of items delivered. I had ordered some papayas and other fruits, and what arrived felt handpicked with care. It was so well done, it transformed me into a loyal customer.

Since then, I’ve used Aonsotsu on special occasions-like Mother’s Day, when I ordered fruits for my Otsa (mother). Being able to send something so simple, yet so meaningful, even from a distance, filled me with gratitude. And each time I use it, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride that someone like Tzuwasanen is doing such a remarkable job.

What’s even more inspiring is the vision behind this initiative. For nearly a decade, Sanen had been nurturing the dream of Aonsotsu-not just as a convenience tool, but as a platform for social change. As he shared during the launch at Urban Hub Café on Sept 2, 2024, this wasn’t just about groceries-it was about empowering unemployed youth, both educated and uneducated, to find a path toward self-reliance.

With currently 50 essential items, affordable delivery charges (Rs 30 to Rs 50), and service across all 18 wards of Mokokchung, Aonsotsu is already changing the game. Plans are in place to expand to Kohima and Dimapur, and there’s active encouragement for local bakers, artisans, and farmers to come onboard. For now, payment is Online – simple, secure, and efficient.

Behind the scenes is a hardworking team, including four delivery personnel, ensuring timely delivery with a personal touch. As Sanen puts it, “We select the items as if buying for ourselves.”

To anyone in Mokokchung reading this-try it. Support this brilliant local effort. Download the app on Google Play or visit aonsotsu.com. Let’s encourage entrepreneurs like Tzuwasanen, who are building not just businesses, but movements of hope from within our own community.
