Connector walked into his friend’s room quietly. He noticed his friend Apologia busy writing as if he were submitting incomplete homework at school. He asked, “What are you so busy writing about?” Apologia replied, “Ah, I’ve received a condemnation letter to write an apology letter and I’ve been given a deadline to submit it by tomorrow, so I have to rush.”

Connector asked Apologia, “What is the reason for which you’ve been told to write an apology letter?” “The other day when I was vlogging, I mispronounced the village name I visited, and according to the complainant and village leaders, I’ve disrespected and dishonored their village name as my pronunciation sounds so Indian (according to the villagers).” “I’m so sorry for you, but we all know ours is a very sensitive society and we seem to take everything seriously, and interestingly, we Nagas are like ‘Mr. Know-it-all’, and act like we know everything about everything and pinpoint every small mistake a person or an organization makes without actually reflecting on our own flaws.”

Suddenly, his tone softened and he secretly whispered to Apologia, “Please don’t tell this to anyone. I also committed an unintended silly mistake, but the organization has very sharp eyes to pick up my mistake, and the executives of the organization had an informal meeting to condemn my act. But fortunately, I had some good connections with the president of the organization. Through some informal discussions, the issue was settled. You see, it’s always important to have good connections with people in higher positions; we benefit during both good and bad times.” Apologia replied, “You’re indeed very fortunate.”

Connector asked Apologia to have a look at the condemnation letter; he noticed something. “Hey, look, the village council has misspelled your name. They have written Apolojia instead of Apologia.” Apologia screamed in happiness, “Wohoo, I’ve got a great opportunity! I will also write a letter to the organization to write an apology letter for misspelling my name.”

All characters and events in my writings are fictional, but the humor and satire are inspired by real-life observations. I hope readers take it in a constructive spirit, rather than forcing me to write an apology for Apologia’s Apology.
