The 1st Inter School Sports Meet cum Singing Competition conducted by All Private Schools’ Association Longleng District (APSALD) which started from 21st June 2022, with Dharam Raj, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, concluded today at Local Ground, Longleng.

 

 

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the officers of APSALD for organizing the event and urged students to participate actively in true sportsmanship. He said that if students had the passion and perseverance, they could someday represent Longleng District, Nagaland State and India as a whole in the future.

 

Xavier B. Henai, President APSALD greeted the gathering and said that the establishment of private schools in Longleng and Tamlu has brought much progress and quality in the field of education in Phom Land. He added that such events were organized by the association (APSALD) to bring all private schools together with a competitive mindset.

 

He further thanked all the individuals and groups who had contributed mentally, physically, financially and materially in making this event successful.
The competition comprised of Football for boys, Volleyball for boys and girls, and singing competition of solo and duet. In the boys football competition, Phom Lempong School bagged the 1st Prize, while Vision Vale School was awarded the 2nd Prize. For girls volleyball, Good Shepherd School was awarded the 1st Prize, while Shamakok Mission School was awarded the 2nd Prize.

 

In the solo competition, Lilong Mukho of St. Joseph School was awarded 1st Prize, while Yimjungbenla Pongen of Christian School Longleng and Lichei Y Phomof Good Shepherd School were awarded 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. In the Duet Competition, N. Journey Manhe and N. Miriam Naam of St. Thomas School Tamlu were awarded 1st prize, while the 2nd prize was awarded to Theila and Ladong of Vision Vale School and the 3rd prize was awarded to Tungen P Phom and Venlen A Phom of Christian School Longleng.
