Arkong and Aongza wards barricade Milak River; Defaulters will be fined a pig
Arkong and Aongza wards of Mokokchung town have jointly barricaded all openings in public places along the Milak rivulet to deter dumping of garbage into the water body. Milak marks the boundary between these two neighboring wards under Mokokchung town. Iron frames and dense mesh were used to build the fence-like barriers. When enquired, it was informed that defaulters caught dumping garbage there from now on would be exacted a penalty in the form of a pig by the two ward authorities.
