ARMS Incorporation (Mokokchung Chapter) launched to expand Japanese language training

ARMS Incorporation (Mokokchung Chapter) was launched on October 29, 2025, at the Conference Hall, Whispering Wind, Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung. The initiative, an effort of INRIS India Foundation in collaboration with IDAN Nagaland and ARMS Incorporation, aims to provide Japanese language and skill training opportunities to youths in Mokokchung and neighbouring districts.

MMC Councillor Imtitoshi Pongen, special guest of the office opening program, along with others during the inauguration of the new office at the erstwhile Imsutemjen Higher Secondary School, Arkong Ward, Mokokchung.

Earlier in the morning, an office opening program was also held, with MMC Councillor Imtitoshi Pongen as the special guest. The new office is located at the erstwhile Imsutemjen Higher Secondary School in Arkong Ward, Mokokchung.

The program was chaired by Abenla Imsong, with invocation pronounced by Rev. Ponen Longchar, Senior Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA).

NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer delivered a silent endeavor on behalf of INRIS Foundation India, while Meripeni, Project Lead of the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), IDAN, presented the vision and mission statement of the initiative.

Speaker Longkumer, in his address, shed light on the “silent endeavours” of the INRIS India Foundation. “We’ve seen remarkable progress in education institutions, with literacy soaring from 76 percent in 2011 to 95.7 percent in 2025,” he noted.

“Yet, this high literacy rate begs a critical question: If we are educated, why are we unemployed?” He pinpointed skill enhancement as the antidote according to INRIS India Foundation.

He said the collaboration with ARMS Incorporation — one of the multinational entities endorsed by the Japan Embassy-as a beacon for the literate youth to open new opportunities.

“I hope the first batch from this Mokokchung Chapter will not only seize opportunities beyond our state and abroad but also emerge as proud ambassadors of Nagaland in Japan,” he said.

Short speeches were also delivered by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung; Imkongchuba, Chairman of Mokokchung Municipal Council; and Lanutoshi Aier, President of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM).

Marsanen Pongen, President of Ao Senden, and MB Longkumer, MMC member and Advisor of the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), shared their thoughts under the segment “Elder’s Voice.”

Greetings were conveyed by Nagatoshi Shibata, Vice President, ARMS Incorporation, and Temjen Bursanen Jamir, Director of External Affairs, ARMS Incorporation. A representative from the State Bank of India delivered a brief session on financial literacy.

The program concluded with a word of gratitude from Dr. Watizulu Jamir, Chairman, Development Association of Nagaland (DAN).
