The Aong Reju Sporting Association (ARSA), Mopungchuket celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee anniversary with fervour and enthusiasm at Mopungchuket. The occasion was marked by a grand commemorative programme.
The highlight of the celebration was the keynote address delivered by Nungsang Aier from Dimapur on the topic “Putusen den jangyumedem” (Keeping pace with the new generation). In his address, Aier stressed the importance of unity, cultural roots, and holistic development. He urged the youth to remain culturally and traditionally grounded while embracing global perspectives and advancements. He observed that unity is not merely a matter of documentation but something practised and ingrained in people’s minds. He also called upon the younger generation to sensitise the older generation to the importance of adapting to global changes, while at the same time remaining rooted in cultural values.
Other speakers at the programme emphasised the need for innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging young people to develop skills and create products that can be marketed and sold. They highlighted the importance of developing Mopungchuket-branded products and adopting innovative marketing and production strategies.
Imkong Aier from Dimapur, in his exhortation, spoke on the importance of skill development and practical education, urging the youth to contribute meaningfully to society and become technically competent.
Suzulemla from Kohima expressed gratitude for an educational award and lauded ARSA’s holistic growth in the fields of education, art, and sports. She encouraged the gathering to uphold truth, honesty, and spiritual awakening.
ARSA president Imlikumzuk welcomed the jubilarians, while Rimachang Aier, convenor of the planning committee, proposed the vote of thanks. The jubilee programme also featured an opening act, folk songs, greetings, and words of gratitude.
The event concluded with a call for the youth to become problem-solvers and innovators, contributing to the development of Mopungchuket and beyond, with an emphasis on holistic growth encompassing education, art, and sports.
