Culture Department announces activities for Hornbill Festival 2025
The Department of Art & Culture has announced that preparations are underway for the Hornbill Festival 2025, themed “Cultural Connect”. The Department will conduct various activities from 1 to 10 December 2025.
Daily cultural performances will take place at the main arena, featuring a cultural extravaganza. Eighteen cultural troupes from within the state will participate, showcasing traditional folk dances, songs, indigenous games, demonstrations of rituals and folk dramas in colourful traditional attire.
The Artists’ Corner and Art Fair will be held at the World War-II Museum premises, Kisama. The activities will include an art show, art transaction, artist talks and presentations, art pavilion exhibition, art market and artisan booths, art demonstrations, interactive workshops, art installations, art battles and cultural art shows.
The Archives Branch will organize an archival exhibition titled “First 50 years of British Administration in Naga Hills”. Departmental publications based on research documentation, monographs of historians, dictionaries of some local communities, works on Naga customary practices and usages, and archaeological publications will be available for book lovers at the exhibition hall in the World War-II Complex.
