A group of residents of Artang Ward in Mokokchung town are now undertaking to pave a 1.5 km stretch of the main approach road in their Ward. For the voluntary road works that will be paved with concrete, more than 150 households have contributed for the cause.
The Government last repaired the road eight years ago, according to the group’s spokesperson. It was informed that although the road was supposedly intended to be fixed by the Urban Development Department in August 2022, no progress had been made. As such, the residents of the ward had decided to pave the road on their own. (MTNews)
