Nagaland Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Ao Naga community on the occasion of Tsüngremmung festival. In his greeting message, the Governor said Tsüngremmung is a pre-harvest festival celebrated to express gratitude to the Supreme Power and praying for a bountiful yield. He said the festival is also a celebration to strengthen their bond of brotherhood and unity among the people in the village and beyond.

 

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the pre-harvest festival of Tsüngremmung is traditionally observed as thanksgiving to invoke God’s blessings for a bountiful harvest. Rio wished the Ao community a happy and memorable celebration.

 

 

Ao Senden

Conveying hearty Tsüngremmung greetings to all members of the community, the apex Ao Senden has urged upon the community to celebrate the rich cultural heritage that they have inherited from their forebears to mark the festival.

 

Further, apart from celebrating the cultural festival, the Ao Senden has also called upon the community to observe it with thanksgiving to God for leading them throughout the year with bountiful blessings in various ways, including successful UPSC candidates.

 

Ao Kaketshir Mungdang

As warm Tsüngremmung fervor grips Mokokchung, the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has greeted the Ao community with festive greetings.

 

AKM in its Tsüngremmung greeting message said that the ancestors observed the festival with solemn prayers seeking blessings for bountiful harvests in their crops. “As such, on this day too, let us observe it seeking God’s blessings,” the AKM conveyed.

 

Tsüngremmung to be celebrated across Ao Naga heartland

Meanwhile, Advisor Imkong L Imchen shared his excitement about the Governor and Deputy CM Patton’s visit to his native village, Mangmetong, on 2 August.

 

“We hope that they will enjoy our festival and take its meaning and significance,” the advisor told Mokokchung Times.

 

It is worth noting that Mangmetong has extended a warm invitation to the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Deputy CM Patton will be present as a special guest.

 

The festival will also be celebrated on 2 August in Mopungchuket Village with Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along as the Guest of Honor, and in Mongsenyimti Village, where RD Minister Metsübo Jamir will grace the occasion as Guest of Honor. Additionally, on 1 August, Advisor Imkong L Imchen will be present as the Chief Guest at the Tsüngremmung festivities in Ungma Village.
