Kohima, 1 February (MTNews): The recently concluded ASCEND (Accelerating Startup Caliber & Entrepreneurial Drive) Startup Bootcamp, organized by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with Startup India, DPIIT proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of the region, a DIPR report said.


The event was held on 30 January 2024 at Innovation & Incubation Space, Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. The one-day event brought together a diverse group of aspiring and growth-stage entrepreneurs, industry experts, and government officials.

With an agenda crafted to empower participants with knowledge and insights, the bootcamp witnessed engaging sessions and fruitful discussions.

The bootcamp kicked off with opening remarks by Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, IPoS followed by a special address from Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, A Temjen Jamir setting the tone for the day. Deputy Director & Team Leader, StartUp Nagaland, Keneirienuo T Zatsu presented the state policy incentives, and a representative from StartUp India provided an overview of national Startup benefits.

Industry experts, including Head-Corporate Finance at Tally Solution Pvt Ltd, Thammiah K M; CA Rohan Abraham, R Abraham & Associates; and General Partner at Real Time Angel Fund, Dr Vibhuti Aggarwal delivered in-depth training sessions on accountancy, GST, and essential financial components of a business proposal, respectively. The networking break provided participants with valuable opportunities to connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships with fellow entrepreneurs and mentors. The one-on-one consultation slots at the Mentorship Desk allowed participants to seek personalized advice and guidance from the experts.

“The success of the bootcamp underscores the commitment of the Nagaland government to foster a conducive environment for entrepreneurship. Attendees left the event with enhanced knowledge, valuable connections, and a renewed enthusiasm for their entrepreneurial journey,” the DIPR report added.
