Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at the Koinadhora State Guest House, Guwahati on July 14. The leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest concerning Assam, Nagaland, and the broader Northeastern region, while also exchanging pleasantries.

Earlier in the day, CM Sarma convened a meeting to assess the implementation of the peace agreement with the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA). The discussions focused on evaluating the progress of all clauses of the accord, which was signed on June 27, 2023.
Additionally, Sarma conducted a site visit to Raha in Nagaon district on July 13 to review the ongoing construction of a tourist centre dedicated to Tiwa King Jongal Balahu. The Rs 50 crore project aims to showcase Tiwa art and cultural heritage through various facilities, including themed entry gates, cycle tracks, a museum, and a convention centre.
During his inspection, Sarma emphasized the importance of timely completion and high-quality standards for the project. The centre is expected to become a significant attraction, highlighting the rich cultural legacy of the Tiwa community.
