Mokokchung, August 12 (MTNews): Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles on Friday organized a Tiranga Rally ahead of Independence Day under the theme Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. An update said that the event was organized with an aim to “evoke a feeling of patriotism by exhorting people across the region to hoist the National Flag between August 13 and 15, when the country completes 75 years of its independence.”
About 250 civilians including school students and 150 Assam Rifles personnel participated in the Rally that commenced at Sewak Gate and concluded at Veer Smriti Memorial complex of Mokokchung Town.
“Such initiatives will also convey the message to the local populace to make the relationship with the National Flag a more personal one rather than just keeping it formal or institutional. The Civil Administration and local populace lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for organising such a grand and impressive rally and also appreciated the enthusiasm and zest of participants of the Tiranga Rally,” the update reported.
