Assistive aids distributed to differently abled persons in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, October 7 (MTNews): Distribution of assistive aids to differently abled persons under the CSR initiative of District Administration, Mokokchung and Ocwen Financial Corporation was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Conference Hall, Mokokchung on Friday with Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly gracing the program as special guest.

 

Speaking at the program, Sharingain stated that unlike other advanced nations, disability is a subject that is new to the people and is rarely mentioned, but that it is time for them to understand that it is an issue that has to be addressed.

 

According to him, assistive aids were developed so that special persons might express and show forth their talents and capabilities. He said, “Do not let any form of disability kill your abilities.”

 

The NLA Speaker acknowledged the Ocwen Financial Corporation, Bangalore for their admirable acts and extended gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung and his team for all the initiatives taken.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, delivered the keynote address. A short speech was delivered by the representing member of the Ocwen Financial Corporation, a special number was presented by Imwapangla Ozukum while the vote of thanks was proposed by the Chairperson, Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung where he thanked Ocwen Financial Corporation president, SP Ravi for their noble gesture.

 

During the program, 50 wheelchairs, 30 hearing aids, 50 walking stick elbows, and 50 underarm crutches were distributed to the beneficiaries.
