The Angami Students’ Union has appealed to the Power department for regular power supply during the HSLC and HSSLC examinations scheduled to commence on the 11th and 12th of February, culminating on the 7th of March and 24th of February, respectively.

While appreciating the department for actively engaging in providing stable electricity supply to the citizens throughout the year, the ASU also acknowledged the challenges and difficulties involved in executing the groundwork.

However, the ASU emphasized that the need for an uninterrupted power supply, particularly during the exam period, is imperative and requires special attention from the department.

“Therefore, keeping in mind the interest of the students’ community, we appeal to your benign authority to acknowledge this letter and prioritize the well-being of the students during the aforementioned period,” the ASU said.

Kiphire: USSC urges Power Dept to ensure uninterrupted supply during HSLC, HSSLC exams

The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), on behalf of the student community of Kiphire and Longkhim-Chare under Tuensang, has sought the attention of the Power Department regarding the urgent need for a stable and uninterrupted power supply during the upcoming HSLC and HSSLC examinations, set to commence on 11th and 12th February 2025 and conclude on 24th February and 7th March 2025, respectively.

In a letter to the Executive Engineer, Department of Power, Kiphire & Tuensang, the USSC stated that these examinations are a crucial academic milestone and that frequent power outages could significantly impede students’ preparation and performance.

The USSC stated that a vast number of students rely on electricity for nighttime study and digital learning and that disruptions during this period would create unnecessary obstacles to their academic progress.

“We, therefore, urge your department to ensure an uninterrupted power supply, especially during evening and late-night hours, to facilitate seamless study routines. A consistent power supply will greatly benefit the student community, enabling them to excel in their academic pursuits,” the USSC added.

The USSC also acknowledged the indispensable services rendered by the Power Department and expressed confidence in the department’s commitment to “fostering education and the aspirations of young minds.”

“Your swift intervention in addressing this concern would be highly valued by students, parents, and the broader community,” it added.
