The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has issued a strong statement expressing concern over delayed infrastructure projects and extended its solidarity to the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) for raising the issue of poor inter-district road connectivity.
“The Angami Students’ Union is resolute and firm on any social issues concerning the students community in particular and the society at large,” the Union stated, while expressing “serious concern about the developmental activities which are ongoing in our homeland.”
In a show of solidarity, the ASU said, “The issue being raised by the Chakhesang Students’ Union against the deplorable condition of road infrastructure concerning the inter districts is greatly appreciated. Their commitment to public welfare and the future of our people is both commendable and inspiring.”

While acknowledging the efforts of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), the ASU maintained that much more needs to be done. “We take due cognizance of the NHIDCL efforts in addressing to the various grievances put forth by the general public. However, we must express our deep concern over the continued delay in the completion of crucial infrastructure projects.”
The ASU warned that inaction could have serious consequences. “The consequences of inaction during the monsoon will severely impact safety, connectivity and daily life of the people as a whole,” it cautioned.
Issuing a stern warning, the Union stated, “Failure to uphold the necessary measures in providing safety and quality road service in our regions before the onset of monsoon will not be tolerated.”
The ASU urged NHIDCL to “act with urgency and sincerity respecting the people’s right to safe and reliable infrastructure,” adding that “any further negligence will compel the ASU to take strong united measures in defense of our people.”
