Asufü Football Academy defeated Circle FC Chedema 2-1 in the second semi-final of the NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy 2024 at IG Stadium, Kohima, on Thursday. The win sets up a final clash against Sechü Zubza FC on Saturday to decide the tournament winner.


Asufü FA started well and was rewarded with a goal in the 17th minute when Bijoy Moktan capitalized on a loose ball to give his team the lead. Chedema struggled to make an impact, with Toka Achumi losing possession inside the box, though goalkeeper Kennedy made crucial saves to keep his side in contention. In the 29th minute, Chedema equalized after an Asufü mispass allowed VS Zimik to score.

As the first half ended, Chedema began to gain possession and find their rhythm. Neither side could break the deadlock in the second half, leading the match into extra time. Chedema defended deep while Asufü FA continued to press but struggled to find a breakthrough. Finally, in the 104th minute, P Sorormi Thinsang scored to give Asufü FA the lead. Moments later, Circle FC appeared to equalize, but the goal was ruled offside. Asufü FA held on to their lead until the final whistle.
