Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mokokchung, Changtongya Block conducted a training and demonstration program at Unger and Changtongya villages on February 15, 2025.


A demonstration on breeding sow selection was conducted in Changtongya Village by Dr Wapangsashi, Farm Manager, Mokokchung. He highlighted key criteria for selecting the best sow for pig farms, including body conformation, proper growth rate, heat cycle, maturity age, flushing method, boar selection, and litter size.

Another demonstration on cultivation practices for long yard beans was conducted by Toshirenla T Longkumer, ATM, Changtongya Block.

Additionally, a training session on piggery farming practices was held at Unger Village, where Dr Wapangsashi discussed various aspects of scientific pig farming that can benefit farmers. Hands-on training was provided on deworming, feed preparation, and the use of antibiotics.
A total of 22 farmers from Unger Village attended the training.
