Mokokchung, 7 September (MTNews): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block organized two days of activities at Yaongyimti New Village and Chuchuyimlang Village on 6 and 7 September 2023 respectively.

 

 

A farmer interaction program for the horizontal expansion of knowledge known as Kisan Gosthi for the farmers at Yaongyimti New Village was organized. Aolemla Kichu, BTM, Chuchuymlang Block initiated the discussion hour with the farmers and numerous problems faced by the farmers were deliberated accordingly. The farmers also shared the progress made and experiences faced by them in their farming journey.

 

Several other technical knowledge were also specified by the other ATMA staff present in that program. Thereafter, on the second day at Chuchuyimlang Village, the activity conducted was “Capacity Building on Package and Practices of Cole Crops” and it was given to Abensa Food Security Group of Chuchuyimlang Village. The Resource Person was Abenla B Jamir, ATM, Chuchuyimlang Block.

 

Since it is the most suitable time to inculcate Cole crops into our farm production and improve one’s income, the farmers were highlighted with various packages of practices of high-value winter vegetable crops such as red cabbage, broccoli, knolkhol, Chinese cabbage etc.

 

The resource person also made sure that the farmers were well informed about the maintenance of the field and various methods for prevention of the crops from insects, pests and diseases during the cultivation of cole crops. The farmers were also given the information about Kissan Call Center and their contact details. Altogether 35 farmers participated from both the villages.
