A one-day demonstration program was conducted by ATMA Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block, on 22 February 2025, at Chakpa and Longkong villages. The program aimed to encourage farmers to become self-sufficient, reduce dependency on the market, and generate income by cultivating seasonal crops.

A demonstration on the topic “Cultivation of Sweet Corn” was held at Chakpa village. The hands-on demo was led by Aolemla Kichu, BTM of Chuchuyimlang Block, who demonstrated field preparation, sowing methods, and proper spacing required for sweet corn. She also elaborated on the optimal growing conditions, irrigation, care, and management needed for cultivating sweet corn, as well as its economic benefits. A total of six female farmers attended the demonstration program.


Another demonstration on the topic “Nursery Bed Preparation for Chilli Cultivation” was conducted at Longkong village. The resource person, Abenla B Jamir, ATM of Chuchuyimlang Block, gave a hands-on demonstration on preparing the nursery bed. She further discussed the optimal dimensions and height of the nursery bed, the fertilizers required for preparation, irrigation, and line sowing of the seeds. She also emphasized the timing of transplanting, weed management, and important pests of chili. A total of three female farmers attended this demonstration program.


Inputs such as seeds and biofertilizers were distributed to each farmer.
