Mokokchung, 23 August (MTNews): ATMA, Mangkolemba Block under Mokokchung district conducted training and demonstration program on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in paddy at Dibuia village on 23 August 2023.
The training was conducted with Shilunokdang Jamir, ATM Mangkolemba Block as the resource person. Detailed explanation on different components of IPM and its application on upland paddy were taught to the farmers.
Following this, a demonstration on cultivation practices of Broccoli was also conducted. Alemnungla, ATM Mangkolemba demonstrated to the farmers on mixing ratios of potting mixtures in which seeds were sown on the seedling trays. In addition to that, She highlighted essential aspects including transplanting timings, strategies for timely pest and disease control, and urged farmers to consider early fall sowing to maximize profits during festive seasons.
The program culminated in interactive sessions where farmers engaged in discussions with the resource persons followed by distribution of pheromone traps, neem oil, seeds, sprayers and seedling trays. Altogether farmers attended the program.
