The resource person, Temjeninla Longkumer, Assistant Technology Manager, Kobulong block, ATMA, began by highlighting the importance of establishing an effective nursery bed to ensure optimal growth and yield of broccoli. She emphasized the importance of soil preparation, which involves loosening the soil to a depth of 15-20 cm. The advantages and use of seedling trays and the solarization of the nursery bed were discussed. The resource person also highlighted the importance of spacing to avoid overcrowding and promote optimal growth, as well as the significance of mulching with straw or dry leaves to conserve soil moisture and prevent weed growth. Additionally, intercultural operations, pest, and disease management were covered.

Later, farmers actively participated in the preparation of the nursery bed and sowing of seeds, gaining hands-on experience that would help improve their farming practices.

At the end of the demonstration, broccoli seeds and seed trays were distributed to the farmers. A total of 10 farmers, along with ATMA officials, attended the demonstration program.
