Ungma, 7 June (MTNews): A demonstration on the ‘Improved Cultivation Practices of Soybean’ took place at Ungma village on 7 June. The event featured Nuksunginla Jamir, Assistant Technology Manager, ATMA Ongpangkong North Block, as the resource person. She provided a hands-on demonstration of various cultivation practices, including land preparation, seed treatment, and the method of sowing seeds.
During the demonstration, Jamir emphasized the importance of sowing the soybean seeds in lines with a spacing of 30cm apart. She highlighted that the ideal sowing depth should not exceed 3cm-4cm, particularly under favorable moisture conditions.
The event witnessed the participation of seven female farmers who actively attended the demonstration program. To support their farming endeavors, inputs such as seeds and trichoderma were distributed to each farmer.
