Awareness Campaign and PC

An awareness campaign for Mission Shakti, along with the inspection and enforcement of the PC & PNDT Act 1994, was carried out at Anava Hospital, Mokokchung, on 4th February 2025. The campaign was initiated by the District Administration and SANKALP: District Hub for Empowerment of Women – Mission Shakti, under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Mokokchung.

The enforcement of this Act is a key element of BBBP, where regular surveys of diagnostic centers and hospitals are conducted to monitor the effective implementation of the Act. The Act aims to prohibit prenatal diagnostic techniques for determining the sex of the fetus, thereby preventing female feticide. The inspection was carried out in the presence of police personnel and staff from the Chief Medical Office (CMO), Mokokchung, along with DHEW staff from Mokokchung.
