The valedictory function for the Awareness Campaign on the National Clean Air Program was held on September 9, 2024, at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur. Organized by Dimapur District Administration, in partnership with Livingstone Foundation Society and Breeze Women Welfare Association (BWWA), the event marked the end of the campaign themed “Celebrating International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies.”

Additional Deputy Commissioner Zakabo Rotokha emphasized that Dimapur has the highest air pollution levels in Nagaland, stressing the need for collective action to improve air quality. He highlighted tree planting as a crucial initiative and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the campaign.

Thungchanbemo Tungoe, CEO of DMC and special guest, discussed the dangers of air pollution, noting that prolonged exposure to unclean air contributes to 900,000 child deaths worldwide each year. He called for greater awareness and encouraged students to take action by planting trees at schools and homes. Tungoe also advocated for eco-friendly practices such as cycling, using reusable bags, and conserving electricity to fight pollution.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Imlijungla Lemtur, EAC Dimapur, an invocation by Chaplain Zhimoholi S Zhimomi, and a performance by Ravineizo Rio. The winners of the inter-school competitions were announced, with Liniu Achumi (Grade 8) of Charis High Academy securing first place in the Essay Writing Competition, Tolivi K Wotsa (Grade 12) from Assembly of God Higher Secondary School winning the Slogan Writing Competition, Etoka (Grade 12) of Cornerstone Higher Secondary School triumphing in the Poster Making Competition, and Bethesda Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, winning the Model Exhibition Competition.
