Department of Agriculture SDAO Tuli in collaboration with ATMA Tuli Block, Mokokchung conducted an Awareness cum Training program on Fall Army Worm (FAW) under IPM and IFS under RAD of NMSA on 6th May 2022 at Tuli Town Hall where representatives from 28 villages under the sub-division attended the program.

 

A press release issued by the department stated that the training targeted to create awareness and disseminate technical knowledge on Fall Army Worm (FAW) infestation and its control measures. The topics covered were Effective management of Fall Army Worm (FAW) on maize crop; and Monitoring, Identification and Control measures of FAW.

 

During the session, participants were also given hands-on demonstration on usage of PEP kit. The resource persons were Imlisunep Ajem, BTM and Shilunokdang Jamir, ATM, ATMA Tuli Block, Mokokchung. At the event, staff from CMO, Mokokchung also took part in the program and Dr. Sunep highlighted their sole purpose of the visit was to educate farmers about the fight against malaria which occurs more during summer season.

 

Later, a group interaction hour was conducted where farmers showed good response. The training program ended with a vote of thanks by Talikumzuk AI and followed by distribution of biopesticedes to all the participants. Earlier, the program was chaired by Rongsen, AFA, SDAO Tuli and the welcome address was delivered by Amongla.C, SDAO Tuli.
