A One-Day Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was organized by the Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC), IDAN, in collaboration with the Nagaland Science and Technology Council (NASTEC) and Educentre School of Business (ESB). The event took place at E-Space, Duncan Basti, Dimapur, on 23rd October 2024. The resource persons were Limasenla Longkumer, Intellectual Property Rights Consultant, IPFC, and Gihukali Chishi, Technical In-Charge, Patent Information Centre, NASTEC.
The program covered topics such as “Protection under Intellectual Property Rights” and “Basics of Patents, Trademarks, Designs, and Trade Secrets.” The event was attended by students and startups. During the gathering, information was shared about the newly established IPFC offices, now available at the Integrated Business Hub and Innovation Centre in Forest Complex, Dimapur, and at the IDAN office in Kohima.
The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) is a state promotion agency that plays a vital role in facilitating various projects in Nagaland. The goal is to create a positive impact in key areas such as education, healthcare, skill development & employability, entrepreneurship & livelihood, and community welfare. The IPFC is one such project aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators in the state to commercialize their business. This Centre, the first of its kind in Nagaland, was established under IDAN.
The program was chaired by Nikhaholi Sumi, IPFC, with the welcome address delivered by Lezo Putsure, CEO, Educentre, and the vote of thanks given by David Kire, OSD, IDAN.
