Mokokchung, 17 December (MTNews): The All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) has lauded the Mokokchung police personnel of PS-I for arresting two extortionists namely SS Dy. Kilonser Imlisowa (Mongchen Village) of NSCN-IM and Meyiwati of Chakpa village.
In a press release, the AWUMT said that the proactive action of the police department for the safety and security of the denizens of Mokokchung Town is highly appreciated. Further, the AWUMT requested the law enforcing authority to book the culprit and punish them with the relevant section/clauses of the law.
While stating that it condemns the act of extortion, AWUMT also reiterated its earlier notification whereby it had “strictly prohibited unauthorized collection /donation and extortion from the general public in any manner under Mokokchung town jurisdiction.” The AWUMT maintained that it will “not remain silent to any activities that destruct the peaceful and harmonic environment of the town.”
